Antibiotics
Amoxicillin
Amoxicillin is a penicillin-like antibiotic used to treat
certain infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia; bronchitis;
venereal disease (VD); and ear, lung, nose, urinary tract, and skin
infections. Amoxicillin also is used before some surgery or dental work to
prevent infection.
Cipro
Cipro is an antibiotic in a class of drugs called
fluoroquinolones that fights bacteria in the body and is used to treat
various types of bacterial infections.
Levaquin
Levaquin is used treat infections such as pneumonia;
chronic bronchitis; and sinus, urinary tract, kidney, and skin infections.
Levaquin is in a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones.
Zithromax
Zithromax is in a class of drugs called macrolide antibiotics.
Zithromax (azithromycin) fights bacteria in your body. Zithromax is used to
treat many different types of bacterial infections, such as bronchitis,
pneumonia, tonsillitis, skin infections, ear infections, and certain sexually
transmitted diseases.
Doxycycline
Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic, used in
treating certain illnesses including Rocky Mountain spotted fever and
other fevers caused by ticks, fleas, and lice. Doxycycline is also prescribed for
urinary tract infections, and for some gonococcal infections in adults.
Doxycycline is also an approved treatment for inhalational anthrax. Doryx is an
enteric coated form of doxycycline.
Ceftin
Ceftin, (cefuroxime axetil) is a cephalosporin class antibiotic, used to treat many
different bacterial infections such as bronchitis,
sinusitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, skin infections, gonorrhea, and
urinary tract infections.
Minocycline
Minocycline is a tetracycline class antibiotic. Minocycline is primarily
used to treat many different bacterial infections, such as urinary tract
infections, acne, gonorrhea, and chlamydia.
Tetracycline
Tetracycline is a "broad-spectrum" antibiotic used to treat
bacterial infections such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus fever,
and tick fevers. Tetracycline is also used to treat upper respiratory
infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, amoebic infections, and urinary tract
infections. Tetracycline is often used as an alternative drug for people
who are allergic to penicillin.
